What happened?
Eli Lilly presented prespecified exploratory biomarker findings from the Phase IIIb TOGETHER-PsO study. The study compared ixekizumab, a medicine used for psoriasis, with ixekizumab plus tirzepatide in adults living with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis and obesity or overweight with a weight-related condition.
Researchers measured changes in circulating proteins and blood gene expression. By week 36, the combination group showed changes in 482 proteins versus 140 with ixekizumab alone, and in 467 genes versus 16. Differences were visible as early as week 12. These counts describe molecular changes; they are not percentages of patients benefiting or measures of treatment success.
Earlier clinical findings from the trial addressed skin clearance and weight. The new results add biological context but do not independently establish that the combination produces additional clinical benefits beyond those already measured. The analysis is exploratory and was reported by the sponsor.
